SALARY:  $37,314 - $53,271 (+) benefits.  Performs a variety of skilled, technical, operational, repairs, maintenance, supervisory, and assist the Director with the administrative works of short and long term planning along with, construction, operation, repair, and maintenance projects for the Authority’s water system and supporting revenue operations.  Exercises supervision over the Authority’s personnel, such as the chief operator, operator trainees, lab tech, maintenance worker and temporary employees.  Qualifications: Class II Virginia Water Works Operator License and have minimum of five (5) years of experience relating to the operation, repair and maintenance of water collection systems and water treatment operations with experience as a supervisor over water operators; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. DS2 is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.

The position entails the operation, maintenance and repair of waste water and water treatment plants, to include, but not limited to pumps,
valves, piping,building,some electric, etc. The qualified candidate would also perform laboratory testing and analyze results for operation changes. Qualifications include the ability to read, write and speak English. The candidate must be able to work rotating shifts. The candidate must be qualified to be issued access to US Military Base.

Minimum of two years experience in the wastewater field holding a class III or higher wastewater license with the ability to obtain higher or other licenses as needed. Have a valid state drivers license. High School diploma or equivalent.

Work in all kinds of weather, climb up and down ladders. Carry and lift 50 lbs or more.
Must be able to work rotating shifts.
