To provide professional development, assistance, and training for its members to enhance the proficiency of their operations through education and support services.
Thank you for your interest in the Virginia Rural Water Association. Founded in 1987, VRWA is a private, non-profit association whose voting members are small municipal and rural water and wastewater systems across the state. The association is governed by a nine member board of directors elected by these members. Our associate members include engineering and technical firms, equipment suppliers, service companies and many others. We also have several different individual members from all over the state.
As one part of our mission, we sponsor frequent training programs designed with the needs of small water systems in mind. In addition to these programs, the association offers on-site technical and managerial assistance in a wide range of areas.
The Virginia Rural Water Association is supported by membership dues, advertising and conference revenues, and contract work performed through our affiliation with the National Rural Water Association. Our modest membership dues are used to expand our services and to buy equipment such as portable labs and leak detectors that are used to help rural systems. Whats more, youd be in good company on our membership roster.
The VRWA office staff consists of an executive director, office manager, desktop publisher and an office assistant. Our field staff consists of a groundwater technician, program specialist, waste water technician, circuit rider, water development coordinator, and a source water technician.
Please feel free to contact our office with any questions that you may have. If you are not a member already, we hope you decide to join our growing association.
Again, thanks for your interest!
