| Website Updates - 05/12/2011
Virginia Rural Water\'s website has gotten a facelift - so to speak. It\'s now more user-friendly, making it easier to find everything you need with just a couple of clicks of the mouse. We’ve been busy developing and adding new pages and links, so you will want to check out all the changes we’ve made to the website! We\'re also excited that our on-line payment function is finally up and running! Now, if you want to register for a \'For-Fee\' course, you can both register for the course and pay for it on-line, making the entire process easier to complete. We will still accept payments by mail (checks) and phone, but the ability to pay for classes on-line is a great benefit that will provide convenience for many people. Speaking of benefits, Virginia Rural Water Association is now offering to keep track of the CPE’s (Continuing Professional Education Contact Hours) for all courses taken through VRWA (free program registration is required). What that means: beginning May 2011, any person that completes the online registration process for this benefit can choose to have VRWA maintain a record of all the CPE’s he or she earns by taking courses offered through VRWA.

| EPA Proposed Method Update Rule - 11/03/2010
EPA is proposing changes to analysis and sampling test procedures in wastewater regulations. These changes will provide increased flexibility to the regulated community and laboratories in their selection of analytical methods (test procedures) for use in Clean Water Act programs. The changes include proposal of EPA methods and methods published by voluntary consensus standard bodies, such as ASTM International and the Standard Methods Committee and updated versions of currently approved methods. EPA is also proposing to add certain methods reviewed under the alternate test procedures program. Further, EPA is proposing changes to the current regulations to clarify the process for EPA approval for use of alternate procedures for nationwide and Regional use. In addition, EPA is proposing minimum quality control requirements to improve consistency across method versions; corrections to previously approved methods; and changes to sample collection, preservation, and holding time requirements. Finally, EPA is proposing changes to how EPA cites methods in three effluent guideline regulations.
DATES: EPA must receive your comments on this proposal on or before November 22, 2010.
