VRWA 2020 Conference Presenter - Open to All

Lead will be a big issue for everyone once the decisions about the new rule come down in August or September. This presentation will walk attendees through the two greatest threats to public confidence in drinking water in the years ahead: the repeated discoveries of PFAS chemicals in our drinking water and biosolids and the impacts of the changes to the Lead and Copper Rule that will almost certainly eliminate the 30-day public notification window and possibly drop it to 24 hours. The presentation will lay out how to get out front with proactive steps to build customer trust. We will then discuss how to deal with the negative impacts of a PFAS discovery that occurs with or near you, as well as how to handle a lead exceedance with tried-and-true tactics and messages.
